Leadership Development: The Norton Leadership Way

At Norton Healthcare, I developed the Norton Leadership Way, a written articulation of the desired leadership culture at Norton Healthcare. This philosophy of leadership became part of the annual performance review for all leaders at Norton Healthcare.

Hand Hygiene

Of course, in a healthcare setting, proper hand hygiene is key to a safe and positive experience for patients and employees. To help reinforce the message of hand sanitation, I created the concept, scripting, and design for this Training Magazine award-winning streamable video. Educator Development

Part of my role at Norton Healthcare was to improve the effectiveness of all of our learning professionals within the organization. In addition to organizing an annual Educator Conference and holding regular educator committees, I would often put together resources to help remind educators of best practices.  
This first piece was designed to guide new educators through the process of assessing "training" requests.

Speaking of new educators, the document below outlines the content for a "New Educator Development Program" I put together to help ensure our organization derived value from learning initiatives.

Training Magazine Top 125

Four years straight, Norton Healthcare's learning function was designated a "Top 125" learning organization by Training Magazine. In addition to my day-to-day leadership role,  I lead the effort to submit the work of our learning team.

Goal Deployment

As committee lead for the learning efforts for our annual goal deployment efforts, I joined three other senior leaders to lead a small team of employees who creating the annual effort to ensure every employee developed goals that aligned with the overall goals of the organization. My work on this committee included efforts such as writing scripts for our organization's president and an innovative "Mobile Goal Coach" text tool.

MedChat

Especially in a time when it is difficult to bring groups together, novel learning tools such as podcasting become important pieces of the work place learning puzzle. At Norton Healthcare, I developed and produced MedChat, a podcast for providers that includes continuing medical education credits. Here is a sample episode:
